Will Brown’s solo project Brecon showcases a penchant for introspective melodies, angular percussion and reflective harmonies, which drive a range of tempos into vast acoustics, wandering through repurposed references to UK dance music. Having caught the attention of Max Cooper, Brecon’s debut EP ‘Cairns’ was released through Max’s own imprint MESH last summer. This was followed by a remix package including remixes from Om Unit, Nicolas Bougaïeff, Ténèbre and Max Cooper. Brecon’s music captured the interest of industry, securing a number of high profile remixes (Morcheeba, Rob Clouth and Max Cooper) and airplay (BBC 6music, NTS and Giles Peterson’s Worldwide FM). Represented by LittleBig Brecon’s live shows mix live drumming and synth work with beautifully engaging synchronised live visuals delivering a unique and energetic performance. “When I first listened to Brecon I was struck by something new – the strength of the rhythmic approach in the context of beautiful arp-driven synth music.
