bookend is a London-based duo blending melancholic storytelling with playful beats and irresistible hooks. Friends for a decade, Michelle (Brazil) and Masaaki (Japan) first connected through music, and their partnership began when Michelle featured on one of Masaaki’s tracks as part of his solo project, Anchorsong. The song “The Ocean” became his most successful release to date (nearly 6.5 million on Spotify), inspiring them to create bookend as a separate project dedicated to their collaboration.
