“Shades of You” – Fejká’s wonderfully textured track featuring Henry Green’s warm vocals. Perhaps it’s because of the richness of the original, which allows the listener’s mind to wander, that this wildly different – although similarly upbeat – reinterpretation were inspired by it. One of Cologne’s youngest and brightest electronic music stars on the rise, Tim Engelhardt gives Henry Green’s soft and intimate vocals a much more minimal backdrop in his rework for example. Instead of the synth-coated melodies of the original, the listener is left with an elegant breakbeat structure that gives the track an entirely fresh interpretation and altogether different, punchier vibe.
German artist Fejká has become most accomplished, producing music which expresses the ineffable. Atmospheric and soulful, Fejká’s sound has become renowned for treading the line between melancholy and euphoria, and resulting in a unique interpretation of emotions which is seldom heard on the dancefloor. Nowhere is this aptitude more evident than on his last album, aptly named ‘Hiraeth’. Nearly a year after its release, the album continues to yield new meanings and fresh musical translations. Now, Fejká collects nine remixes of its original tracks by fellow musicians and friends to release “Hiraeth Remixes”.
“Hiraeth Remixes” includes reworks by the accomplished musicians Tim Engelhardt, AFFKT, Tor, Rohne, Niklas Paschburg, Teho, Lake Turner, Arutani and Avem.
