Matt FX is a NYC-based DJ and producer with a unique knack for riveting rhythms and magnetic melodies. Weaving together a tapestry of electronic sound influenced by a global diet of everything from italo disco to soulful house, Matt brings a signature sound easily identifiable in his sonic output.
As a DJ, Matt approaches each and every set with an irreverence that the New York Times calls ‘interesting social commentary on multiple levels’ and has shared lineups with everyone from Disclosure and Marc Rebillet to Azealia Banks and Charlie XCX.
He is currently finishing his full length debut album for Soul Clap Records — following releases with Warner/Big Beat, Disco Halal, Sorry Records, Wolf + Lamb, Kitsuné Musique, and Toucan Sounds.
The Fitness and Pony’s vision is a simple one: bring together the elements of the naughtiest, raunchiest, wildest and sexiest house party you’ve ever been to, all under one sound. It’s a sound you can’t quite put your finger on, but you can’t turn away. It’s high energy house music that delivers lo-fi attitude, rugged techno basslines and pulsating electro fever with a sparkle of sex and comedy for good measure. Hailing from Montreal, Canada’s original city of sin, The Fitness honed his DJing skills while holding down residencies at clubs like Stereobar and Datcha while playing renowned festivals like Piknic Electronik, Igloofest and AIM alongside artists like Leon Vynehall, Audion, Simian Mobile Disco, Dusky and more. Coming together with rapper, singer and diva extraordinaire Pony, The Fitness rapidly rapidly found his sound under the guidance of Soul Clap and Wolf+Lamb after meeting the Crew Love heads at a late night affair. The duo released their debut single “Sex (I’m An Addict)” in April 2017 with support from legends like Skream and DJ Harvey, quickly following up with The Fitness’ Freak Out EP. In June, The Fitness & Pony joined their newly minted Crew Love family in Europe on the Make Love Our Destiny tour where they premiered their live show at parties in Barcelona, London and Iceland. With a series of releases set to drop throughout the year, 2018 is gearing up to be a massive year for this electrifying new duo.
Greg Paulus has been performing as a trumpet player, vocalist, keyboard player and DJ for 14 years and throughout that time he has toured internationally in Europe, Asia, North and South America, Africa and Russia. He has toured as a band member with artists such as Beirut and Matthew Dear in addition to 12 years of touring with Nick DeBruyn as the group No Regular Play. Throughout this period he has appeared on over 100 records, on vinyl and all digital platforms, as a leader, guest soloist and remixer on labels such as Ghostly International, Kompakt, Soul Clap and Wolf + Lamb. Growing up as a jazz trumpet player Greg attended the Stanford Jazz Residency and went on to receive a bachelors of music from the Manhattan School of Music. In 2011 he performed “TimePiece” with the Minnesota Orchestra, (a concerto fusing orchestral with Jazz soloists and electronics) that he co-wrote with his father, Stephen Paulus. No Regular Play was honored by The Young Patrons of Lincoln Center for their Unique contribution to the Arts in 2014. Paulus continues to tour and release music under No Regular Play and his own name Greg Paulus and has an upcoming solo release on renowned British label Freerange in January 2021.
Thaïs Sala is a Senegalese/French/American singer/songwriter raised between Morocco and the UK. With a background in jazz and soul, she is now focused on her collaborative project with Montreal-based House music producer Moses Belanger. Their debut EP will be released in November 2022, following the release of their first three singles. Thaïs Sala also films, directs and produces film and video projects, having directed the music video for the duo’s debut single Dice & Aces, which was shot exclusively on smartphones between her hometown Marrakech, Montreal and Paris, representing the project’s bicoastal nature.
