With nearly a decade of professional experience in the music industry, he has established himself as an in-demand DJ for high profile events, ranging from Good Morning America’s Oscars recap party to Whoopi Goldberg’s birthday celebration on The View.
From New York to Tokyo, Prince Hakim’s vibrant gigs take him all around the world. He’s made stops at Bonnaroo Music Festival in addition to Art Basel in Miami Beach. In Manhattan, he’s DJ’ed at Tao Group’s rooftop lounge The Fleur Room and the roller skate park DiscOasis in Central Park, which featured music curated by Nile Rodgers. He’s spun records at the Surf Lodge in the Hamptons as well as the Social Innovation Summit in Chicago. Additional clients have included The Clinton Foundation, Tory Burch, and the Carnegie Hall Notables.
Hakim was first introduced to funk through his father, Robert “Kool” Bell of Kool and the Gang. Growing up, he cut his teeth making beats and spinning records with his brother and cousins. He also spent his childhood summers with Jermaine Dupri, who began his career DJing out of his garage. In recent years, Hakim has toured alongside Kool and the Gang as a featured rapper; he also opened up for the group in Las Vegas ahead of their 2024 induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. In addition to Kool and the Gang, he’s taken the stage alongside iconic artists including Kid Rock and Van Halen, among many others. He’s excited to continue to share his passion and talent with the world as his career moves forward.
In addition to music, Prince Hakim is a dedicated philanthropist, serving as president of the Kool Kids Foundation. The organization raises money for children in underfunded schools to have access to instruments, fostering their love of music at an early age.
