Prince Josh released his debut album The Joy (2020) to critical acclaim followed by remixes and singles for Nervous Records, Kitsune and Italians Do It Better. The slinky, body-moving title track “Moth” is set for a July 27th release.
Toronto’s Prince Josh (aka Josh McIntyre) is perhaps best known as one half of the duo Prince Innocence as well as a member of the Mexican Summer/Capture Tracks post-punk outfit Little Girls.
His new album Moth is out August 25th via Hand Drawn Dracula and is a stylistic shift from his hazy lo-fi take on dance music to a crisp three dimensional sound rooted in an ethos of early trip hop and Ninja Tune, and over to more modern inspirations like Burial. It’s produced by award-winning producer Jim Anderson (Moby, Massive Attack) and Joel Ford (Oneohtrix Point Never, Jacques Greene, Com Truise).
