Fauves are an indie-pop band from Glasgow, Scotland who blend elements of funk, disco and jazz throughout their music. The band are recognisable for their unique sound and artworks, taking their name from Fauvism, an early 20th Century French art movement which utilises vibrant colours and shapes. Fauves have been likened to MGMT and Metronomy by BBC Radio Scotland’s Vic Galloway, with the band themselves citing Tame Impala and Steely Dan among their influences. The group have gigged around the UK building a reputation as a bouncing live act, yet sonically incomparable to many of their peers in Glasgow’s punk-saturated music scene. They are off on their first headline UK tour in early 2019, and opened the run of gigs with a memorable sold out first show at London’s Sebright Arms.
